About Colliers GIS

What is GIS?

GIS is an acronym for Geographic Information Systems.

GIS professionals deal with information that is assigned a point in space. Colliers GIS generally makes maps, writes reports and creates spreadsheets about geographic information.

Our Mission

Our mission is to operate Colliers GIS as the most thoughtful, creative and objective source for maps and geographic reports in the world. Colliers GIS seeks to become the industry standard for thoughtful geographic analysis.

Our Philosophy

1.  We strive for the supergraphic.

We create high-density presentations of information that incorporate maps, charts, graphs, tables and narrative text.  This is our specialty.

2.  Marketing is another department.

We don’t spin data to support preconceived notions.  Our only agenda is to present information in a truthful fashion.

3.  Show our work.

Making maps involves collecting data from a wide range of sources.  Analyzing that data involves making assumptions. Presenting that data requires more choices and assumptions. We state our assumptions and list our sources.  Our clients can trust in our transparency.

4.  People are not stupid.

Map design should not appeal to the lowest common denominator.  The general public is a lot smarter than it is given credit for. To do the smartest work, we’ll speak to a smart audience.

5.  Never stop learning.

We approach information with curiosity and interest.  We are attracted to knowledge.

6.  Your career is not on hold.

Colliers GIS attracts smart ambitious people. By encouraging career growth, we attract the cream of the crop.

7.  It’s not just business.

Businesses are groups of people. People are what matter.  Companies that are run without regard for the humanity of their employees are bucking for a downfall.

8.  Smart is more important than big.

Large groups are slow to learn, react or change. We change with the times.
